Newly Licensed Environmental Planners from the Diploma in Land Use Planning Program for 2019

During this year’s Environmental Planning Licensure Examination (EPLE), five students and one graduate from the Diploma in Land Use Planning (DLUP) Program of the University of the Philippines-Faculty of Management and Development Studies (UPOU-FMDS) were among the 2019 passers out of the total 4,973 EPLE examinees. The results of the EPLE were released by the Professional Regulation Commission last 11 June 2019.

The following DLUP Program students are now licensed Environmental Planners (EnPs): Mr. Lou Stanley Ignacio Pulvera, Ms. Danica Marie Velasco Arriesgado, Ms. Marie Juvy Lalin Alera, Ms. Izil Lantano Cablilan, and Ms. Maja-Layne Zabala Edejer. Ms. Christine Golda Myrhh Castillo Valera who is also one of the newly licensed EnP’s earned her degree in Diploma in Land Use Planning last September 2018.

The EPLE is conducted annually by the PRC in order to comply with the Environmental Planning Act of 2013 (RA 10587) which aims to regulate the practice of environmental planning. According to the Professional Regulatory Board of Resolution No. 1 Series of 2019, non-degree holders of Environmental planning will only be allowed to take the said exam until 2019. After this year, in order to be eligible to take the EPLE, examinees must have a degree in environmental planning, urban/city and regional planning, or town and country planning or its equivalent. The qualifications of EPLE takers are further elaborated in Section 18 of RA 10587.

FMDS congratulates EnP. Pulvera, EnP. Arriesgado, EnP. Alera, EnP. Cablilan, EnP. Edejer, and EnP. Valera for their achievements. The full list of passers in the 2019 Environmental Planning Licensure Examination can be viewed here.
