Course Description: Focuses on the function, roles, and responsibilities of those involved in property asset management within its physical, economic, legal and financial framework

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Explain the theoretical and practical working concepts of asset planning, maintenance management, lease management, financial management, facilities management, marketing, systems and reporting, insofar as those functions relate to the management of real property assets;
  • Discuss the management basics of real property assets at the corporate/strategic, middle, and operational levels and how these affect property asset values;
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of economic, legal, physical, financial, social and environmental parameters that govern the establishment, holding, use and income generation of real property assets; and
  • Prepare a standard property asset management plan.
