Course Description: Valuation of agricultural properties with emphasis on their productivity

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:
● Explain and relate common terminologies used in appraising agricultural properties;
● Relate the key elements of the land, i.e. biophysical, socio-economic and institutional, that influence the value and management of a property;
● Differentiate the various types of valuation techniques relevant to agricultural properties and the purposes for undertaking agricultural property assessment;
● Illustrate GIS applications in agricultural property appraisal;
● Analyze agricultural enterprises and their impact on agricultural property values; and
● Summarize the basic theoretical and practical concepts used in agricultural land valuation.
