Course Description: Various phases of organizational transition of ASEAN from its early period of establishment to the years of organizational changes in the ASEAN declared governing principles and charter, membership expansion, functions, and organizational directions that have transitioned in the nearly half a century of history and existence.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Discuss the various phases of ASEAN organizational transition;
2. Map out portrait of the growth and expansion of ASEAN in a transitional flow covering the guiding principles, number of memberships, expanding organizational functions, and organizational development directions of ASEAN over the plane of time and transition
trends; and
3. Identify the transitional changes of and transformation of ASEAN with critical and accurate insights on the factors and dynamics of the organic regional body.
