Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) faculty and staff received awards during the 23rd Anniversary celebration of the UP Open University (UPOU) on 26 February 2018 at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL), UP Open University, Los Baños, Laguna.
Associate Prof. Joane V. Serrano, Director of the Information Office and Multimedia Center and a faculty under the Diploma in/Master of Environment and Natural Resources Management (D/MENRM) was awarded with the 2018 Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding Faculty while Mr. Larry N. Cruz received the 2018 Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS). The UPOU Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding Faculty is given to exemplary faculty member. In particular, the award recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of the faculty member, on top of his/her efficient and effective performance of his/her regular functions, which contribute to the University’s growth and development while the UPOU Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding REPS is given in recognition of the REPS’ exemplary performance, scholarship, innovative and creative research, extension and other outputs, and valuable contributions beyond the call of duty, which resulted in among others, better systems and operations and higher academic reputation for the University.
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Finaflor F. Taylan, faculty under the Diploma in/Master of Social Work (D/MSW) and Diploma in Women and Development (DWD) programs and Ms. Jeniffer F. De Pasion-Guevarra, University Extension Associate I were awarded the five-year service award while Asst. Prof. Cesar Z. Luna, faculty under the Diploma in/Master of Land Valuation Management (D/MLVM) and Asst. Prof. Juvy Lizette M. Gervacio, faculty under the Master of Public Management (MPM) received the ten-year service award. (JFDePasion-Guevarra)
