Course Description:
N261 (Nursing Care in Cardiovascular Conditions) is a major course in Adult Health Nursing (AHN) specialty. It focuses on the concepts, principles, and process of care of the adult client, with emphasis on the clinical aspects of cardiovascular diagnosis, interventions and management considering the various levels of care as well as development of standards of care.
Course Objectives:
- Develop competencies of nurses in specialist/ advanced practice to assume the roles of expert care provider, educator, and researcher in cardiovascular care.
- Provide meaningful experiences and relevant learning opportunities in the light of innovations, research, and evidence-based practice in cardiovascular care.
- Apply selected theoretical nursing models appropriate for a unifying framework in a holistic and culturally congruent cardiovascular nursing practice.

UNIT II: NURSING CARE OF PATIENTS WITH COMMON CVS PROBLEMS
Module 5: Nursing Care of Client with Coronary Artery Disease
Module 6: Nursing Care of the Critically Ill Client
Module 7: Nursing Care of Client with Hypertension, Hypertensive Emergencies, Stroke and Other Vascular Disorders
Module 8: Nursing Care of Client with Valvular Disease, Adult Congenital Heart Disorders and Heart Failure
Module 9: Perioperative Care of Client Undergoing Cardiac Surgery
