Lloyd Lyndel D. Simporios, Social Worker III and a student under the Master of Social Work at University of the Philippines Open University -Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) was awarded as the Best Social Worker of DSWD Field Office VII on 11 February 2020 during the 69th DSWD Anniversary at the Vivace Events Center, SM Seaside Complex, Cebu City.

Simporios was acknowledged for his exemplary work performance, service and demonstration of his duties and responsibilities as Social Welfare Officer III.

Simporios is currently enrolled under the Master of Social Work Program of the UP Open University’s Faculty of Management and Development Studies. He graduated in 2009 from Mindanao State University (Cum Laude) with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. After graduating, he started his first career as Social Welfare Officer I in Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Cebu. He then transferred to DSWD Office VII as Municipal Link (PDO II) and moved to the DSWD Field Office VII as Social Worker III from 2014 until present.

According to Simporios, he felt so honored and happy with the recognition that DSWD FO VII has given him. He said, “Let us always be reminded that the profession’s focus on human needs shapes its conviction that the fundamental nature of these needs requires that they be met not as a matter of choice, but as an imperative of basic social justice.”
