The University of the Philippines Open University-Faculty of Management and Development Studies (UPOU-FMDS), conducted the culmination activity of the Project LAKBAY (Learning Actively through Knowledge-Based Appreciation for Youth) last 13 February 2025 at the UPOU Oblation Hall, marking the end of an enriching journey for the participants.

The event began with a synthesis of the activities conducted throughout the duration of Project LAKBAY, followed by participants sharing insights on their experiences and the outputs they had created. The highlight of the event was the film showing, where each group presented their video outputs, showcasing their creative journeys and lessons learned during the 10-day immersion camp.

Assistant Professor Lorena Jean Saludadez and Assistant Professor Lloyd Lyndel Simporios, Project LAKBAY Head Facilitators, led a synthesis session, helping participants reflect on the broader themes and lessons of the immersion camp. This also allowed everyone to reflect on their personal growth and the skills they had developed during the program.

The event was followed by a recognition ceremony at the UPOU Multipurpose Hall, where the efforts and achievements of the participants were acknowledged. Dr. Joane V. Serrano, former Dean of FMDS and the newly appointed UPOU Chancellor, concluded the program with closing remarks, praising the dedication and collaboration demonstrated throughout the project.

The day wrapped up with a vibrant celebration during the farewell dinner and Fiesta sa OU where participants celebrated their accomplishments while enjoying Pinoy street food. The evening was filled with the excitement of traditional Pinoy games, fostering friendly competition and strengthening the bonds among Project LAKBAY fellows.

The culmination activity of Project LAKBAY highlighted the value of creativity, collaboration, and learning, leaving participants with valuable memories and insights that will resonate beyond this immersion camp.
