

Faculty and staff members from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) presented their research at the International Conference on Open and Innovative Education (ICOIE) 2025. The conference, held on 9-11 July 2025 at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), brought together global educators, researchers, and practitioners to share innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and research in open and distance education.
During the Parallel Paper Presentation Sessions, UPOU was represented by multiple presentations, including:

ICOIE 2025 featured an engaging program that included keynote sessions from distinguished speakers such as Prof. Olaf Zawacki-Richter (University of Oldenburg, Germany), Prof. Kate Maguire (Middlesex University), Prof. Michelle J. Eady (University of Wollongong), and Prof. Katarina Popovic (University of Belgrade, Serbia). Discussions ranged from digital transformation in open education and transdisciplinarity in research to equipping graduates for the future workplace.
The participation of UPOU faculty members and staff in ICOIE 2025 reflects UPOU’s continued commitment to contributing to global discourse on open and innovative education, strengthening its role as a leader in flexible learning and research innovation.
