The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), through the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), opens enrollment for the Gender Sensitivity Training Microcredential (GSTMC) for JUNE 2026. The GSTMC is a compact, flexible, and academically grounded online program for learners aiming to build a deeper understanding of gender sensitivity and its role in promoting inclusive, gender-responsive communities and institutions.
The course introduces learners to gender sensitivity concepts and enhances their level of awareness and understanding of gender and development (GAD) and its related issues. Delivered through UPOU’s learning management system, ASCEND (www.ascend.upou.edu.ph), the program is designed to fit the schedules of working professionals, government employees, and civil society workers who wish to deepen their knowledge of gender-responsive principles.
Participants who complete the program will earn 0.5 units, creditable towards the Diploma in Women and Development and Diploma in and Master of Social Work degree programs.
