The University of the Philippines Open University-Faculty of Management and Development Studies’ (UPOU-FMDS) Dean Dr. Joane V. Serrano warmly welcomed the new faculty members composed of Assistant Professors LorenaJean Saludadez (Graduate Certificate in/Master of ASEAN Studies), Regine Karla Bagalanon (Master of Arts in Nursing), Regine Mendoza-Armiendo (Master of Public Management), Remsce Pasahol and Milben Bragais (Diploma in Land Use Planning).
The official orientation which took place on 25 January 2024 at the Teaching and Learning Hub Conference Room served as a platform for Dean Serrano to provide a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities the new faculty members will undertake. This encompassed their involvement in instruction, research, and public service. Additionally, they were also briefed on the Faculty’s organizational structure, academic protocols, and administrative procedures.
As part of the orientation program, the new faculty members engaged in discussions about the university’s ongoing initiatives which aim to enhance the quality of education and broaden its impact on society through research and public service.
To foster a sense of community and collaboration, the FMDS staff, responsible for various functions, introduced themselves to the new faculty members. This interaction not only familiarized the newcomers with the team but also emphasized the collaborative spirit within the Faculty.
Dean Serrano ensured that all queries and concerns from the incoming faculty members were addressed comprehensively during the orientation.
