Attention Undergraduate Students!
Important Announcement Regarding the Course Offering Pattern of GE and other non-major (GE+) undergraduate courses
Starting from the upcoming trimester (1T, AY 2023-2034), we will implement a new cycle of General Education and other non-major (GE+) course offerings that we believe will enhance your academic experience and provide you with more flexibility in planning your studies.
The new GE+ course offering pattern was designed to better accommodate your needs and interests and to ensure a well-rounded and diverse selection of GE+ courses, enabling you to orient your academic journey according to your goals.
However, we understand that adjustments might be necessary to the plan of studies, particularly of continuing students. To facilitate this transition, we encourage you to consult your respective program chairs (PC) as soon as possible. Your program chair will guide you through this process, help you understand the new GE+ course offerings pattern, and assist you in making any necessary changes to your plan of studies.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Review the New GE+ Course Offering Pattern: Take some time to explore the list of GE courses in UPOU and course offerings for the coming trimester, available on our university website. Familiarize yourself with the courses being offered, their prerequisites, and their alignment with your academic goals.
- Consult Your Program Chair: Reach out to your assigned academic advisor, referred to as program chair (PC) in UPOU, to discuss your current plan of studies. They will provide valuable insights into how the new course offering pattern can benefit you and help you determine if any adjustments are needed.
- Adjust Your Plan: If your PC suggests adjustments to your plan of studies, work collaboratively to make the necessary changes. Ensure that your updated plan aligns with your academic objectives.
- Stay Informed: Keep an eye on your university email, announcements, and relevant communication channels for updates and reminders related to the new course offering pattern and any deadlines for making adjustments.
Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to
your program chair and/or Faculty of Study.
Thank you for your attention.
